Note: GCAC Elementary Track & Field is for children in 2nd through 6th grade.  Also, there is no separate registration for GCAC elementary track & field or cross country.  Just make sure your child is a current GCAC member and show up for practice!

**Adults can also compete in the all-comers indoor and outdoor Track & Field meets at Slippery Rock University (SRU).

**GCAC Middle School Indoor Track & Field is for kids 6th through 8th grade.  NOTE: 5th graders can participate in the Middle School program if they are advanced, or can participate in the 2nd through 5th grade Elementary Indoor Track & Field program (see below menu).

• You can compete in USA Track & Field (USATF) Cross Country and Track & Field events as a member of the Grove City Athletics Club 

• USATF is for youth and adult ages (depending on the event).

• Affiliate with the "Grove City Athletics Club" as a member of USATF

• Our USATF club number is 11-0305.

• Our local USATF association is the USATF Three Rivers Association, which hosts Cross Country and Track & Field competitions, including Junior Olympics and Open competitions for any age (youth and adult).

GCAC Elementary OUTDOOR Track & Field History:

• Started in 2018.

• Is the ONLY elementary track & field program within 100+ miles.

• Across 2018 to 2021, the program started in the fields behind the GC Middle School as well as the fields by the Sewage Plant (end of Greenwood Dr.), and transitioned to sometimes being able to use the Grove City College track and the GC High School track. The program now meets full-time at the GC High School track!

• Over time, integrated and taught fundamentals on almost all track & field events, including jumps (long, triple, high), throws (javelin, shot, discus), hurdles, sprints, block starts, distance, and relays.

• Attend organized competitions at Slippery Rock University (SRU) and USATF meets.

• Program has grown to consistent roster of 100+ kids (e.g., 2024 had 123 kids) and 15+ volunteer coaches (e.g., 2024 had 18 coaches)!

GCAC Elementary INDOOR Track & Field History:

• Started in 2022.

• Is the ONLY elementary indoor track & field program within the tri-state area.

• Children taught fundamentals on most track & field events, including jumps (long, triple, high), throws (javelin, shot), hurdles, sprints, block starts, distance, and relays.

• Practices held at Slippery Rock University Indoor Track.

• Attend organized indoor competitions at SRU, Youngstown State University (YSU), & Spire Institute.

GCAC Middle School INDOOR Track & Field History:

• Started in 2023.

• Is the ONLY middle school indoor track & field program within the area.

• Practices held at Slippery Rock University Indoor Track.

• Athletes participate in their desired event group.
